Walk in the Light of the Lord

The pupils decided that this would be the school motto from September 2007.

It was a surprising choice. When asked why it was his choice a boy in year 6 said that light shows us the way and that is like Jesus showing us the way to live our life.  Very impressive thinking!

Collective Worship

Churchfield is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England school. Collective Worship is of a Christian nature and takes place daily, usually in the morning so that it sets the tone for the day. The Vicar takes an assembly once a week and the whole school worships in St. Augustine’s Church at least once a term.

Parents have a right to withdraw their children from this daily act of worship but are encouraged to speak with the Headteacher, so that the full implications of withdrawal can be discussed, before deciding to do so.
