Walk in the Light of the Lord
The pupils decided that this would be the school motto from September 2007.
It was a surprising choice. When asked why it was his choice a boy in year 6 said that light shows us the way and that is like Jesus showing us the way to live our life. Very impressive thinking!

Music
Music lessons enable pupils to develop their ability to listen to and appreciate music, and also to acquire the skills, knowledge and understanding to make some of their own!
We are very pleased to be able to offer lessons in steel pans without any charge. Churchfield has three steel pan teams with children from years 3 to 6 being involved. There is a small charge for lessons on the flute, clarinet, drums, guitar and keyboards. A scale of charges is available from the school office.
Years 2 and 3 are this year involved in the K2M project where these two classes learn the violin together. Funding has been accessed for these lessons, so no fees are charged.
The school also has a choir and a band. Membership of these is voluntary for pupils, but encouraged. The band and the school choir often represent the school at events within the community.
In December our Nativity Play included every member of the school either through singing, acting, or playing music. We were extremely pleased with the performance and the way everyone worked together to make it a great success.
The annual talent show is a huge favourite in the school with the majority of children from all year groups auditioning to take part in the final.
