Walk in the Light of the Lord

The pupils decided that this would be the school motto from September 2007.

It was a surprising choice. When asked why it was his choice a boy in year 6 said that light shows us the way and that is like Jesus showing us the way to live our life.  Very impressive thinking!

Pastoral care and behaviour

Our aim is to promote good behaviour by having a positive attitude towards discipline with an emphasis on praise and reward for desirable behaviour. Honesty, politeness, helpfulness and kindness are all rewarded and highlighted. Children are encouraged to see the reasons why some behaviour is desirable and that behaving well can make them feel “tall inside”!  They are taught that there are always choices and consequences to different forms of behaviour.

Churchfield has a Child Protection policy stating that ‘The First Response team’ will be called when there is cause for concern about a child.  The guidelines of the policy are carefully followed.
